At the end of This Man Ava has left Jesse, who is very drunk and swearing at her, in his flat/apartment. Never to return. We start this book with Ava riding the break up wave, with all it's lovely ups and downs, like bad hair and make up, snivelling nose and snappy temper. Sam gets them back together....I'm not a blogger who likes to give spoilers out, sorry....So our dear handsome Jesse has a dark secret, and it's alcohol. Only he's gonna spend the rest of the book, refusing to admit it. There's a bit more drama with Sarah, an amazing bit at a dinner party, woohoo, go Ava, and also I did feel very sorry for her afterwards. Really, is it ever gonna be cleared up, as to wether or not Jesse and Kate got it on that night?
Most of the way through, Ava keeps putting off calling her parents, as she doesn't want to deal with the fallout from telling them she's not only dating again so soon, but she's also dating someone older than her. Something quite big happens, and unknown to Ava, she walks into Lusso to find her parents there.

There are two trains of thought on this book, on Jesse and Ava's relationship. The first, and most widely believed, is that they are just so in love and so messed up that it's turned into an obsession based relationship. They can't live with, or without each other any more.
The second is that if you look at it bit by bit, Jesse is actually quite mentally and physically abusive to Ava. He's forever pushing for whatever he wants, and if he doesn't get it, he either convinces her via sex, getting drunk or does it anyway. Mentally, although he says all these nice things to her, he lets everyone else, especially Sarah have a go at her. He stalks her incessantly, calls the bars she's at when she's out, so he knows where she is, how much she's drinking, and who she's talking too ! He even decides on the clothes he likes her to wear !

Personally, I give this 4 out of 5 stars, because I can see the elements in this, that I wouldn't want my daughter to read, and pick up as a good relationship basis. I love romantic and erotica. This is one hell of an awesome book, but there's just a few tiny bits, that made me really dislike Jesse.
